Updates
| 11/8/08 - Well the site still
hasn't been updated since the last entry, but I'm still here and still
trying to find time to update. My last year was full of
traveling, including the Tucson Show and the Ste. Marie aux Mines show
in France, but they didn't result in new specimens for the website
since I have so much material I could put up already. The 2008
Houston show is history, and with a new show a full year away (we are
switching dates to get out of Hurricane season, since Ike almost did
us in) we have a short breather. I hope to use it to get some
specimens photographed with my new DSLR camera, a Nikon D70s, and
posted here. In anticipation of that, I'm offering a 20%
discount on all specimens on the website, except consignment
specimens, with a higher discount for larger purchases. Many of
the specimens on my pages are priced in 2002 dollars, and you can get
the additional discount before I decide to raise my prices.
8/23/07 - For new and old visitors to the site, the same conditions as in the previous note apply, only I moved this summer also, to a suburban part of Houston. The Club show is 4 weeks away and I'm in full panic mode, so don't expect to see any updates until October. One good thing though, the move brought to light many specimens I hadn't seen in a long time from my collection, which have now been removed and made available for the business. They await cataloguing and photography. Our show postcard is done, a great photo of a Sweet Home rhodochrosite and two Argentina rhodochrosites of stalactite form. I hope to post a copy here shortly. 3/11/07 - For those of you coming by after a while, or dropping in for the first time, I want to let you know this is a working site and all the minerals on it are for sale, unless they are marked sold. Last year I obtained a large number of specimens from the NJ traprock quarries, as well as additional nice specimens of fluorite from the Southern Illinois mines that have been closed for more than a decade. In addition, a local collector dispersed his collection of 50 years and I was able to obtain part of it, including specimens from Arkansas like Jeffrey Quarry quartz and McEarl Mine quartz. I also have good specimens from Indiana calcite localities, collected 40 years ago by a friend whose field collected specimens I have obtained. Any of these specimens can be imaged and emailed to you for examination. Thank you for your patronage.
